Cup Description

These beans produce quite the sweet cup! Like many other Ethiopian coffees, this cup is bursting with fruity and floral aromatics. It has milder acidity than what you might expect from its washed counterpart, but still gives a zesty finish to your sip. All these flavors are underlined by a nice hint of cocoa. If you like your fruits and florals, but want to tone down your acidity, this is the one for you.

Farm notes

This beautiful natural lot is a grade 1 that comes from the Wote Konga station, tucked just outside Yirga Cheffe town in southern Ethiopia. Sitting at around 2000 meters above sea level, the surrounding hills are home to hundreds of small-scale farmers—most with just a couple of hectares (bout 2.4 acres)—who carefully grow coffee between 1900 and 2200 meters. The farmers bring ripe cherries by hand to Wote Konga station, where the team gets to work.

For this natural process, they sort out any underripe fruit before laying the cherries on raised beds to dry slowly in the sun for 2–3 weeks. The station is well organized and promotes sustainable farming methods to the farmers that they buy from, for example, not using fungicides on the trees.

FAQ

How do subscriptions work?

Select a frequency, how often you'd like to receive fresh coffee. Your card will be charged for today's purchase and depending on which frequency you chose (every week, every two weeks, once a month), your card will be charged from today's date and I will fulfill those orders then. You will receive fresh coffee based on the frequency of your subscription!

How do I choose the grind size?

Depends on how you brew your coffee! If you use a regular coffee pot, choose the drip option and I'll grind it the right size for you. Same for all other options.

Do you have "K-cups"?

The short answer is no. HOWEVER, if you use a Keurig, you can simply put the coffee I send you in a re-useable K-cup. Same for Nespresso machines.

Do I need special equipment to brew this coffee?

Absolutely not! You can brew this coffee with your equipment of choice, however you enjoy your coffee. I tend to enjoy pour-over coffees, but feel free to use your typical coffee pot, French press, espresso machine, etc. Whatever floats your boat!

One caveat is that I will have some coffees that I have roasted with specific brew methods in mind (looking at you espresso!). That being said, you can enjoy all of these coffees with any brew method!
